Compare Your Salesforce Orgs’ Metadata

Pete Nicholls

Comparisons lets you take any two orgs and compare configuration and code. It’s great for figuring out what needs to be deployed in a change set or to see what’s different about an org. Today, you can use it to explore your metadata in even greater detail.

Clicking on any component now opens a new detail view. Inside, you can see the raw source of the component in either the source or destination org. It’s powered by Backups, so loads nearly instantly. This is great for when you’re trying to understand how config differs between orgs, or which Apex classes and triggers need to be updated.

We hope you enjoy this feature. We’re planning to release more improvements to Comparisons over the coming weeks as we work towards our upcoming Migrations release, so stay tuned!
